Part 1 consist of the Technical/Knowledge Test which checks for technical knowledge related to the position.
Part 2 is a Behavorial/Personality Test which check for integrity, teamwork and other social skills that will determine if you're a good fit for the department.

Interview
First, you are selected to take a test to interview for the position. This exam is done at their testing center in Queens. The exam can be up to 6 hours long and is similar to a GED exam. You will know right away if you passed or failed. If you pass you will be called for an interview about a month later. The interview was in-person and was made up of a panel of 3 interviewers. The interview questions are very basic and none of the questions were specific to the job. About a month after I was offered a job. I declined since they were not open to negotiations for salary.
