Interview consisted of 3 rounds. The first being the initial conversation with the recruiter. Second round was the technical interview with the hiring manager and an additional team member. Third interview was a behavioral interview with the hiring manager and another manager from a different team. Interview in the Second & Third round were standardized as each interviewer took turns asking questions.
Process took a few weeks to hear back, was extended an offer and attempted to begin negotiations. Unfortunately the salary demands that were established at the beginning were not met and there was no additional leeway to increase the salary as there was push back from compensation department. Offer was declined because it did not align with surrounding market expectations.
Overall good hiring process, hiring manager & recruiter were great to communicate with. Unfortunately, Con Ed's pipeline of talent in a competitive tech market will be severely reduced due to internal restrictive negotiation and compensation policies & processes.
