Phone Screen by Recruiter, then manager approval to enter 'standard Cook 4 part interview process' based on 4 hiring criteria (i.e. Leadership, Technical Skills). Each interview has 2-3 participants, done remotely via WebEx on different dates which is nice to have a break vs doing them all at once.
While the process seems logically organized and does involve a number of direct reports and stakeholders to this role as well as the hiring manager, my personal opinion is the interview process is flawed because the Hiring Manager should be first and solo after the Phone Screen as a gate to this 4 part series. In my case, the manager was last of my 4 interviews, (in a group of 3 interviewers no less). I don't feel there was a chemistry at all between the hiring manager and I during that discussion. As such, it seemed like a waste of 4 hours of my and their time because had the manager interviewed me first, I believe I wouldn't have been promoted through this process (the job expectations beyond what was written in the req were not a good fit).
I would also note, that after investing all this time in the process, I didn't get any feedback from the recruiter or manager, even after I requested it. I recognize that isn't required, but given the people centric nature of their organization I was a little surprised.
That said, seems like a wonderful organization and the people are genuinely nice.
