I spoke with a recruiter at Cornerstone Building Brands in June regarding a role. She initially told me I would hear back in a week, but I didn’t receive any update until I followed up. The response I got was a short, vague note saying the team was “still reviewing applications.” After that, there was no communication for months until I finally received an automated rejection email 2.5 months later.
As someone who has built and led Talent Acquisition functions for many years, I find this level of communication and professionalism unacceptable. Candidates deserve timely, respectful updates, not long silences followed by automated messages. A poor candidate experience reflects negatively on the company brand, especially in a competitive market for talent.
