I applied online. I interviewed at Cox Automotive (Austin, TX) in Sep 2019
Interview
Got a take home programming exercise and a Google form. Exercise takes about 1 hour. Submitted both and got selected for phone interview. Phone interview is about an hour with some basic tech questions and 3 small programming questions. Immediately got selected for the next round which is a on-site interview. This is the most disorganized and unprofessional interview I have attended so far. I was sent a format for the interview and nothing was followed. Supposed to be 3 hours long and had 3 interviews starting with a code review of the take home assignment. I was given a basic tour of the office and the manager started asking me basic questions about AWS migration and related questions and after a few another Senior Dev and Manager came in and asked couple more questions and left. No code review or testing my technical skills. And I was sent a basic not selected email without any feedback. Looked to me like they already hired someone for the position and just interviewed me just because they already scheduled an interview.

Question 1
Questions about how I handled AWS move at my previous employer and basic Join questions on SQL.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Cox Automotive (Atlanta, GA) in Oct 2025
Interview
The process started with an initial phone call with the recruiter, followed by a short conversation with the hiring manager about the role and my background. After that, I was invited onsite to the Atlanta campus for a panel interview with three team members, two Principal Engineers and one Senior Software Engineer.
The onsite included two medium-level LeetCode-style coding questions. The interview itself went really well, and I was told afterward that I had passed and they intended to move forward. However, communication afterward was very slow. My original recruiters were laid off due to budget issues, and after waiting about 5.5 weeks with no updates, I called my new recruiter and was told they had decided to move forward with another candidate.
Overall, the interview experience was positive and the engineers were great, but the recruiting communication felt unorganized and stale, especially since updates only came after I reached out several weeks later.

A meeting with a recruiter early on. A call back later for a final interview onsite at the location. The onsite contained both a behavioral and technical stage with different managers across the different teams
