I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cox Automotive (Salt Lake City, UT) in Sep 2022
Interview
1. Brief screening interview with recruiter.
2. Interview with hiring manager. Casual tone, general get to know you conversation.
3. Technical interview with a staff developer. This part was poorly done. The interviewer was arrogant and condescending. Most questions didn't seem aimed at showing competency; rather about how good my memory is and how well I work with someone looking over my shoulder.
4. Interview with scum masters. Pleasant people, nice casual conversation.

A automotive company asked me to design and code a toaster. Yes, you heard me right, a toaster.
It was ok, no offense though, that's pretty silly.
They started off 'well the toaster could have multiple slots, and the toaster could have this and that' - but the issue is that we are talking about a toaster so what a toaster can do is opinionated. It wasn't a good real life example of something so I thought it was a little bit corny coming from the automotive world.
Really nice people, everyone was nice and encouraging, I thought I for sure had the job. Think they hired someone before me and just interviewed me so I wouldn't feel bad lol.
