After applying about a week ago, got a round of emails, no discussions, and we setup a phone interview. Here's the rub...they bought a company I worked for, and I knew how it was internally, so I knew when she was blowing smoke about things...
I let her go through her interview, typical questions, how to work with leaders, etc.
I always close with "is there anything that would eliminate me from consideration" and she chirped back, it might be a cultural fit (duh...I already knew this), so I asked her to elaborate, she had been 20 minutes late to the call and after I emailed the folks that set it up, she called...poor time management at best.
She tells me that I was "condescending" in my answers...interesting, pushed for time, she didn't even use skype or video, and knew me all of 25 minutes to say this...
I then let her know that not only was I not interested, but indeed had been there before and knew quite a bit about the culture...and thanked her as I agreed, culturally they are not a good fit for someone who's spent 35 yrs in the industry, 20 at Microsoft and so much more...she's been doing what she does less than 1/3 of my career...hopefully someone will right the ship, but I'll speak first...not a good place to work...ever.
