I had a recruiter from the company reach out to me on LinkedIn. I had some questions that I went through with him on a call before I went through the first interview. It seemed like a good conversation and like things were off to a good start.
During the first formal interview they were asking a lot of questions that you could tell came off of a cookie cutter list, such as “what are some examples of your lead generation process in your current role?”, but my current role had none because that’s not what I do. It confused me as to why there were questions about my current job that had nothing in to do with my current job. It felt the opposite of my first call with them which was very personable. I wish interviews were done with who you’d be reporting to rather than HR or a recruiter who knows talking points about a position, but not actually anything about what it’s really like.
