Crio.Do Data Analyst interview questions

They asked me about Descriptive Statistics, and I explained its concepts and applications. I also described Google Sheets and how it can be leveraged to solve data analytics problems. They then gave me four hands-on Excel questions, which I answered correctly. Finally, they asked how I would determine how many people scored below a specific mark. I responded that we could use the concept of normal distribution or sort the data to calculate how many students are below a particular mark. However, the interviewer insisted that the median should be used, which seemed incorrect to me for this specific problem.
