Interview Experience for Principal Data Engineer at Crown Castle
Application Process:
I discovered the job opening for a Principal Data Engineer at Crown Castle on LinkedIn. The application process was straightforward – I applied through LinkedIn which redirected me to the company’s website to complete my application.
Initial Communication:
A few days after submitting my application, I received an email from a recruiter at Crown Castle. They requested my availability for an initial discussion, which I promptly provided.
Scheduled Connect and No-Show:
We scheduled a time for the initial connect. However, on the day of the meeting, the recruiter did not show up. I waited for a few hours, giving them the benefit of the doubt, and then sent a follow-up email. In this email, I expressed continued interest in the role and understanding that scheduling conflicts can happen. Unfortunately, there was no response to this email.
Closure of the Position:
Approximately 30 days later, I received an automated email from a service account informing me that the position had been filled and the job posting had been closed.
Overall Impression:
This experience left me with a poor impression of Crown Castle's recruitment process. The lack of professionalism and communication from the recruiter, especially after a missed appointment, reflects poorly on the company. It was disappointing not to have the opportunity to discuss the role further, and the way the situation was handled did not meet my expectations of professional engagement.
