Interviewer showed up more than 15 minutes late and seems to be on autopilot mode as well!
Initial email correspondence followed by a brief phone call, completed with an in person interview.
Once in the interview I was only able to get few meaningful questions answered. Simple questions regarding the compensation package, short and long term company plans (not overall vision) were deflected and answered as if reading from a teleprompter. To further the only information received was rephrased directly from the job listing.
Compared to other SF startups I have interviewed and worked at Cruise definitely ranks in the lower quartile in regards to professionalism, initial transparency, and ability to provide reliable information relevant to the role.
As a recommendation read the job posting a couple times and familiarize yourself with the rhetoric - when interview time comes repeat that information with a personal spin and you are likely to land the job.
