I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CyraCom (Phoenix, AZ) in May 2018
Interview
I felt like everyone was very professional and friendly. The interview process was definitely quick, in my opinion. Also, the recruiter made sure I understood what the job was going to be exactly about and made sure I was prepare for it. I feel if anything, the only difficult part was the phone assessment but if you feel comfortable and have the ability to communicate in the targeted language and in English, you will be more than prepared. Just study a lot of the medical, business and insurance terminology in both languages, as you will need to interpret consecutively from one language to the other for the assessment. Either way you're given a guide, so I am glad they help us with that.

Question 1
What makes a good interpreter? Why do you want to be an interpreter? Say the ABC in targeted language.
Having successfully passed the interview process at CyraCom, I demonstrated strong language proficiency, cultural competency, and customer service skills that align with the company’s mission of breaking language barriers. The interview involved multiple stages, including a language assessment, behavioral questions, and scenario-based role-playing, where I showcased my ability to interpret accurately and professionally in real-world situations, particularly in healthcare contexts. My adaptability, attention to detail, and commitment to providing empathetic and high-quality interpretation were key factors in my success. I’m now ready to contribute to CyraCom’s impactful work, bridging communication gaps and supporting clients with diverse needs.
The first language assessment interviewer was 10 minutes late. When I asked the language assistant to repeat herself she had an attitude. They rejected me shortly after that. It just sucks when I see people get the job and they are allowed to brush up on vocab down the road or during training.
