I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Augusta, ME) in Sep 2013
Interview
1st interview went great, scheduled me for a second interview the next week, and the person who was supposed to do the interview wasn't available and they rescheduled me for the next week and sent me home. The 3rd time they somehow lost all my info and had me take a pre-employment test with "what would you do " questions. They said when they found my paperwork they would call me back, they never did. Great store but the way it was run seemed very unorganized.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A man and his kid want to start hunting whitetail deer and need to be outfitted with the proper gear. What do recommend do them?
I applied and got called in to interview about a week later. Short and easy just asked about general knowledge of camping, fishing and hunting and if you had any knowledge of other depts.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at DICK'S Sporting Goods (Savannah, GA) in Aug 2018
Interview
It was a two step interview with two very likable guys. They were very welcoming, casual, and honest. You could tell they were not trying to make the position better than it was and wanted they really focused on getting to know me and identifying if I would be in the area for a while. It did take around 2 months for me to get a callback for the first interview.

Interview
I applied online and got a call back in about a week and a half.
When I came in, I met with the store manager for about 20 minutes, and scheduled a time to come in and interview with the assistant manager. I came in for the second interview and they offered me a job. They had to run a background check because I would be working in the Lodge Department and then after all that went through, I came in for orientation and training.
