The HR interviewer was inexperienced and it showed. He had made his way up the ranks and it was apparent that he doesn’t have adequate training to find high-level talent. If you’re interested in a job beyond the pavement pounders or telemarketing reps (which is a completely different type of hire than one of the core leaders of the business), and could actually help lead this company to a new level of professionalism and growth, I’m guessing you’ll be overlooked. I interviewed months ago for a job that’s still being listed. The initial interview went really well, the HR guy was impressed with me, and he told me he would contact me to arrange a time to interview with the owner in the next week or two, but then I never heard back. When I followed up, I was told they were re-evaluating the position. When it got posted again, I contacted the HR guy, he said he was no longer doing that job and said he’d let the new HR person know. I officially re-applied and never heard back. I see they just posted the same job yet again.
