      Solutions Architect Interview

      Dec 14, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Brisbane
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Databricks (Brisbane) in Nov 2021

      Interview

Most ordeal interview experience of1 month, I got hr call from UK early in the morning 7 am, asking me to come for a scheduled interview next morning. Post this hr round there was a pre-sales manager round. Next they provided the assignment which i compelted in 4-5 days. After this i was asked to provide my availability for 3 consecutive rounds. I provided it abd awaited but didnt hear, after follow ups got to know that team is busy. Post few days got another update, asking to once again provide available schedule. Post that it got scheduled : 3 rounds in a span of 15 days. Now the magic begins, in first technical round observed a data science boy coming with a question paper and written answers in it. He was taking data engineering round with the give background, that's fine but what i observed was not fine for me. After each question he validated by reading what's written in answer paper, and reconfirming did I say same. Of course similar but cannot be same. Moreover, questions were information based (like graduate examination question papers like : tell me what is window function, name all the types of joins, what is left outer join, what are spark file formats, lacking real-time experience based questions!!! I was expecting high at real-time questions which gauges how a person can apply his/her experience to a given situation. These concepts can still be tested as part of those situations focusing more on experience and value addition rather than checking google based knowledge. After this round there was no response from hr. After couple of follow ups got to know that technically it was ok but answers were not precise [wondering how can it be when answers were matched with written responses]. Next two rounds were with sales guys. After 1 month is these process got an autoreply that Post review of your application we are not going ahead. Who comes with paper and answer written to take interview and reading it to ask questions. IF YOU EXPERIENCE NASTY QUESTIONS, ILLOGICAL PATTERNS, DELAY IN UPDATES POST INTERVIEW, HR HIGHLIGHTING DIFFERENT REASONS TO GET BACK LATER, THERE ARE HIGH CHANCES THAT THEY ARE BUYING UR TIME TACITLY, IN BACKGROUND INTERVIEWING OR SELECTED OTHER GUY IN PARALLEL. PL DNT WASTE UR PREVIOUS TIME IN SUCH INTERVIEWS FUTHER!!!!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1
