I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Datadog in Nov 2018
Interview
Fairly straightforward process. Applied via my college job board and spoke to the recruiter who said that the interviews will take place after 2 weeks. They only have 1 algorithmic video interview. They use zoom video, but that never seems to work, so you end up taking the interview on your phone, with a shared screen for you to write the code.
All your codes should be executable, as you'll be given multiple test cases to run against your code. Needless to say, that the cases must pass. However, the test cases are usually trivial and not extreme edge cases.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Given the availability of 2 people and a meeting duration, find the 1st overlapping time when the meeting can take place.
Easy questions, they asked in-depth questions about a project that I had to verbally present. Then, they asked 3 leetcode style questions, around leetcode easy to medium. They asked me to explain the time complexity of my solutions, and they were very kind when I made mistakes
I applied online. I interviewed at Datadog (Paris) in Jan 2026
Interview
J’ai passé un entretien RH sur mon parcours et mes objectifs. L’échange était détendu. Suite à cela, un entretien technique a été planifié pour le lendemain afin d’évaluer mes compétences techniques.
