I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deel (São Paulo, São Paulo) in Nov 2024
Interview
They start with a conversation to know what is your experience, after they send you a project to do involving concurrent programming (you just need to focus on locks and transactions), and then they do an one hour interview with a lot of questions related to databases and queries.
This last interview starts easy, just asking for you to make some queries. And then they ask you more deeper questions about strategies to improve performance related to the queries, and after that they ask you a system design question involving converting a file by calling to others systems.
In general, the interview is not that difficult but the space is not comfortable. The interviewers don't talk much with you and don't do any reaction when you are answering the questions. Feels like you are following a script that if you don't follow, you lose.

Question 1
Can you explain the difference about the isolation levels in a database?
1 technical interview, then another interview with the team lead, one cultural fit interview with senior management. There was no leetcode at all but conversations and direct questions. Overall interviewee friendly

Interview
The interviewer showed up 5 minutes late and had the most arrogant attitude I have ever experienced in a hiring process. Big red flag. Constantly interrupting me over small details. Demeaning attitude, not a single smile. It's like they wanted me to fail and feel under pressure. It's okay to discuss different views on architecture. But nitpicking the syntax and tiny details was simply not helpful to anyone. If that's the culture, I dodged a bullet.

Question 1
The technical constraints and how it fit the overall platform architecture. That was actually a fair question.
