      Strategy and Operations Manager Interview

      Application

I interviewed at DoorDash (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2021

      Interview

This is my first post here but after reading all reviews; I felt it was important to write this. I also know of atlesat one more candidate from a tier 1 consulting firm who had a similar experience The process was similar like described below 1) Phone screen with a director 2) Take home assignment 3) 2 zoom interviews. I didnt proceed post this stage of process The take home assignment took around 8 hrs from me (and I am part of a MBB firm; so I do such work on daily basis) Post the take home assignment; I had a case interview. The case was 30 mins and seemed fairly average. The interview with hiring manager was 15 mins of chit chat and the rest 15 mins some very high level "thought leadership" questions which I have mentioned below. I am not sure what the firm is looking for . I see most posts of similar experience. Its a fairly lengthy process and their selection standards seem to be either pretty high (doubtful given atleast their Canada team has no one from a very prestigious strategy firm or top tech firm) or they cant make up their mind on what they want. Ofcourse, they dont share specific feedback like mentioned by reviews below I would advise prospective interviewers (the positon in Canada is open for 6+ months now) to be cautoius while investing so much time and energy in the process.

First a screening call with HR, then a take home analytical test, followed by two virtual panel interview rounds with 2-3 people each round. Some of the interviews were behavioral and some were analytical.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash in Jun 2025

      Interview

Had a recent interview process that started off fine but ended up feeling like a waste of time. The initial phone screen with the recruiter was positive (straightforward, professional, and gave me a good sense of the role). But the hiring manager interview was… odd. They gave a quick rundown of the position, asked me one question (“tell me about your background”), and that was pretty much it. No real follow-up, no questions about my relevant experience, and no opportunity to actually talk about what I could bring to the role. It didn’t feel like a real interview - more like a box they had to check. So I wasn’t surprised to hear I wasn’t moving forward. Just disappointed that there wasn’t any meaningful conversation or engagement. Felt like a missed opportunity all around.
