I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash (Tempe, AZ)
Interview
The interview process is fairly standard — recruiter screening, hiring manager interview, case study, and a final panel.
However, in my experience, this has been one of the most arrogant tech companies I’ve interviewed with (and I’ve interviewed at FANG-level companies). I’ve gone through four different role processes here — a total of nine interviews — and in almost every case, the managers came across as condescending, acting as though what they’re doing is beyond the capability of anyone else but realistically, they have used bandaids to scale and find themselves overworked because they have failed to standardized processes.
You don’t feel valued at any stage of the process. Recruiters often take weeks to respond and may not acknowledge follow-up messages — this happened to me multiple times with different recruiters. Compensation is also under market despite their claims that it’s “competitive.”
I also have friends currently working there who are actively leaving due to what they describe as a toxic environment. Based on my experience, I believe them.
Had multiple recruiters from Doordash reach out, multiple rounds of interviews for each position, and a case (excel + SQL). Received offer for one of the positions, but declined. Not very pleasant experience overall. For the other positions that I did not receive an offer, I either received no word back (after following up multiple times on whether they received my completed case study), and a generic response with the wrong position title on another instance.
