      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Elsevier in Mar 2019

      Interview

I applied online, had to do a few aptitude tests (some were very hard) and then was invited to a phone interview. My interview was on Saturday and the phone call never came. I emailed them one hour later and got no response, I called their helpline and left a message and still no reply. I was called on Monday to reschedule for that day, interview was good and i was told i would hear back either way. I called them one week later and was told someone would call me, two weeks later i called again and was told all their assessment centres were full but if they ran more i would hear soon. I've never heard from them again. Poorly organised and a waste of my time.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Elsevier (London, England) in Mar 2018

      Interview

Emailed recruiter which lead to tests and an online video interview. This was 1 minute per question and looked for quality and concise answers. The assessment day was long, with a lot of breaks, this could be done in a shorter time period due to a the amount of time waiting around. The day was broken down into a 12 minute test, this is like a classic IQ test. The one on one interview was competency based and interest in technology, I recommend watching some Ted talks on something in technology that you find interesting and look into products that you enjoy using (device wise or software). The one on one interview also had some logic/technical questions, understanding programming logic is helpful here. The presentation is infront of a small handful of assessors and other candidates, very relaxed and nothing to worry about. Pick a topic you can talk with honest passion and can explain within 5 minutes, questions aren't expected only if the audience is genuinely interested in knowing more on the subject. I chose a hobby, some who chose a academic topic struggled and rushed to cram a lot of information in a small space of time. The group exercise is fun, just a brain teaser with a group. Communication is key keep this clear and concise and don't stray from the purpose of the task. Make sure you have a time keeper and someone to check for rabbit holes (going off topic)
