      Human Resources Generalist Interview

      Mar 20, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Elsevier (Dublin, Dublin) in Mar 2020

      Interview

I did not apply for the role, however a Recruiter from London reached out on 12th of March, 2020 via LinkedIn. I was pleasantly surprised by the approach and professionalism of the email. I shared my CV the same day and confirmed I would like to have a chat and know more. I got an answer on 17th of March (by that time I was sure I will never hear back) asking for a phone discussion on the 18th. I confirmed right away that I am available. On the 18th at 1 PM I never got any phone call, although the recruiter was online on LinkedIn the whole day. I followed up 30 minutes later with a message saying I am available all day and I am looking forward for the call once she gets free. 48 hours later, I did not get any reply. I am not writing this to complain or cause trouble for anyone, however I invested good few hours in researching the company and I noticed someone takes the time to reply each and every Glassdoor review, which is an admirable practice. However, the company won't be able to attract the people and best practices they are aiming for unless there are some basic expectations made clear for all levels, especially when it comes to candidate/employee experience.

Thank you for leaving your review. We are sorry that your experience with us hasn’t been great. This is not the kind of experience we would like candidates to have. We are continuously working with our global Recruitment team to streamline the interview process and guarantee effective communication at each stage. We hope this does not deter you from considering Elsevier as a potential employer in the future.
