A lot of unnecessary rounds. Silly questions leading to ageism. No concern or serious thought given for questions asked by candidate.
Besides a phone screen with an HR manager, there should be one interview with the candidate’s manager and one interview with a VP. Add in an online criminal background check/Psych evaluation to be completed by the candidate on his/her time if necessary. Do Not ask for work references before interviewing. It’s unprofessional and wastes those various managers time to thoroughly answer multiple questions. Interviews with team members, especially junior level employees with less than two years experience isn’t needed as their insights aren't important regarding management level decision making. Also, if people are going to be included within Teams/Zoom/Skype online meetings, all participants need to be on time and have their video on. It’s only fair to ask if a candidate is presenting themselves, the current employees should as well.
