A few days after applying online, I was called by the manager of the location I applied to. He asked me to come in and do an interview, and meet with the team I would be working with. It was very professional and appropriate for the industry. I was asked a variety of questions regarding my experience with insurance, medicine, customer service, if I felt comfortable speaking on the phone, my personal scheduling needs (open availability is a plus), my work-style and salary expectations. The interview lasted about 30 minutes, at which point I was introduced to the people I would be working with.
After a couple days I was called back to sit with one of the other patient services representatives to see exactly what the job was like, and decide if it was a fit for me. Within another couple days I was offered the job and accepted.
