I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Equinix (Sunnyvale, CA) in Apr 2015
Interview
Applied online through recruiting website like Indeed.com, there is career website also for Equinix.
Once again you get a call to schedule an interview. Usually two people from the team you'll be working with takes the interview. My interview was for about an hour.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q1: Past projects that you have worked on that relate you to Data Science profile?
Q2: How comfortable you are in R, Python or Hadoop?
Q3: Questions related to the project work?
Asked basic questions such as about your experience and projects. What classes have you done. From perosnal experience, I didn’t have any experiences in my resume, so they asked me about myself and what I’m studying
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about your self and what classes are you taking
The whole interview process was poorly organised. There were 2 interviewees. In Data Science area, they were not clear which specific area the role should work in. They started asking questions right from machine learning projects to machine learning technical questions to deep learning to natural language processing.
They needed someone to know everything of data science. In Data Science, we specialise in one of the fields and I told them my area of interest is Deep Learning.
I answered all Deep Learning questions correctly, but they humiliated me saying shall we ask some more or should we finish the interview. You should never make such people take interviews who harass during the interview process.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Equinix
Interview
I was scheduled for an interview but was rescheduled over and over due to the interviewer being too busy. I kept trying to check in with HR for updates, but the person took extremely long to respond, and the position was filled even before I had an interview.
