There is a review from a few years ago which matched my experience. Basically they'll hire you if you can read and speak Japanese. There were barely any technical questions. Some software people report to a manager in Singapore, some software people report to a local Japanese manager. HR is Japanese. They speak highly of the office cafeteria and ping pong tables. Interviews were curt and real topics were avoided. There is a lot of international travel, but they downplayed it and would not elaborate on what I would be doing during trips. They said there would be some managerial responsibilities, but the salary they offered did not reflect this. Offer package was base salary, performance bonus, and restricted stock units (RSU). Contract was in Japanese. The company is Equinix Japan, not USA.
