Etsy interview questions

I started off with a phone screen from their HR department, which included questions about the company (am I a user, why do I want to work for Etsy, etc.), my transferable skills, etc. After the call with HR I was sent a homework assignment to answer specific questions about certain examples I would see in this position. I then had a phone interview with the hiring manager. He informed me about the position and then asked me questions about my background, why I wanted to work for the company and why I wanted to work in this industry.

During the telephonic interview, I was asked normal questions related to background.. and also I was asked what I can think of to change on the site that will add value Then I was given an assignment to list 3 experiments (lean startup concept) to add value to Etsy. There was no time limit to complete the assignment, which rang few bells - are they planning to hire even if I respond in 1 month? How urgent is this need? Well, I spent so many hours to list those experiments, crossing off the ones that won't add value, and finally, I replied with answers within few days of my first interview and it has been almost 2 months, I never heard back. Despite my emails to them asking the status, I get no response. This is an example of company that is looking for ideas from candidates and not hire them -- so my advice is STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
