There were 3 rounds of interviews that took place over a period of 3 weeks - 1 technical, 1 managerial and 1 HR
All rounds went well and I cleared all. Salary expectations were communicated to the HR right from the beginning of the interview process. Post clearing all rounds, HR had set up a meeting to discuss the compensation structure and I received a confirmation on my selection (verbally). However, they didn’t release the offer and kept me on hold for almost a month stating various excuses. After numerous follow-ups from my end, the HR informed me about a hiring freeze. This was clearly a false statement as I discovered later from posts on LinkedIn by candidates who joined the team for the role.
I understand there could be budget constraints and other issues. However, I would appreciate if the process had been more transparent. Expecting a candidate to invest 2 months and keeping them on hold after giving the word of mouth, is not expected from a renowned organisation.
