Interview
Technically, I only interviewed with HR and had a Zoom interview scheduled with the hiring manager two days later but it never happened. I’ve never had a phone interview with HR and an interview with the hiring manager scheduled all at once. That stood out to me but I went along with it. The phone interview with HR was fine. She told me all about the role and company and prepped me for the hiring manager interview. I felt we had a great conversation and I was excited to move along further in the process. She also made mention if this position wasn’t a fit she’d find a role for me that was. On the day of the interview, I waited and waited. It seems I was sent an interview link for another candidate who HR was not familiar with. I got on the phone with HR and was scheduled for the next day. Well the next day came and I waited and waited again. This time the hiring manager was unable to access Zoom due to an error. I called HR again and was able to talk on the phone with the hiring manager for roughly 10 minutes since she had a hard stop and much time had already been wasted. It was very rushed and I was asked questions along the lines of what are my hobbies and very preliminary questions that were already asked by HR. HR only apologized for my experience but no further updates on my candidacy, even after I offered to interview again. I’d like to add the HR resource who sent out the interview link did not return any of my emails or phone calls. The next day I noticed the position was removed from the site. There was constant communication during the interview process but complete silence since. I’m certain they had their candidate all along and I was just backup.
