Director of the division originally contacted me via telephone on a Friday. He had stated that he was going to email me information and a job description, and told me to contact him if I was interested. The telephone conversation was not very productive b/c I did not have a thorough understanding of the recruiting industry.
I received a telephone call from the manager on Monday afternoon and he had asked me why I didn't show for the interview!!!?? HUH??!?! I didn't even look over the information as of yet!! Are you kidding me??!?! He NEVER ASKED ME TO COME IN!! I never agreed to an interview date/time!!! Wow!
If this was any indication of the type of company or director I would be working for, I shouldn't have invested further interest in this position, however I played along. The hiring manager then asked me if I could come in the very next day b/c the president of the division was going to be present for the interview.
The interview was about 1.5 hours. I met with the hiring manager/director and the president of the company. Both parties were pleasant and professional however the director had a "care salesmanish" personality. The position and company didn't feel like a fit, however the director sent me an email stating that he wanted to move on with the next process!!! I was surprised! Once again, shocked! I never left my application b/c I didn't feel a fit.
Long story short, there's a lack of professionalism at this office. After I was told that I was moving on to the next process, I wasn't contacted for 3 days and finally noticed that they had hired someone else for the position! Thank God! The 3 days gave me enough time to properly research this company and the industry as a whole. I was able to talk to other recruiters and former recruiters in the industry as well as former employees of this particular company! The director was misleading and unprofessional. If this is any indication of the culture of this company and how they practice their daily business dealings, I surely don't want to be a part of it! Thank you for not reaching out!
After researching this industry, I did not receive any positive feedback. Descriptions were "cut throat", "deception", "bad ethics" and "under paid consultants."
Recruiting isn't a career for me!
I wish the new hire all the best!
