I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Salt Lake City, UT) in Jan 2013
Interview
Two part interview. Really easy. They are just looking for a real go getter who isn't afraid to work it like you got it. The company is willing to put money out there to help you grow, however if you aren't reinvesting in your Agency you are not going to go anywhere.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is the lowest income I can live on for the next year?
Was basic and tedious asking me questions about my prior work history so make sure that I understood the job role. Overall it was not difficult to formulate an answer to the questions.
The interview was professional and conversational. The agent clearly explained the role, expectations, and growth opportunities. I was asked about my communication skills, work ethic, and goals. Overall, it felt welcoming, informative, and focused on long-term potential rather than pressure
Detailed with multiple calls. Explained in detail the onboarding and training processes including the financial obligations with starting an agency. There was a personality test to help determine fit with the company.
