I recently had a phone interview (if you can call it that) with Fast Enterprises, after being contacted by one of their recruiters. It started out normally enough, with the interviewer asking what I thought was a simple question: what I knew about the company.
Well, apparently the interviewer wasn't satisfied with my answer. She stopped the interview immediately and told me to go read their website. I *had* read their website, and had hoped to get some more detailed information about how they handle things like client project placement/selection and relocation during the interview. Isn't that part of the purpose of these initial, 'getting to know you' phone interviews? But no, I was never given a chance to ask any questions, I was just shooed away. I really got the feeling that she just wanted to get me off the phone, as if she had something more important to do than interview a prospective employee.
It also made me wonder what it would be like to work for the company. If I asked my boss a simple question, would I get a simple answer, or would I be shooed away and told to go read internal corporate document #1483C? I was given the opportunity to continue the interview process a week later, but by this point I had been turned off of the company and declined it.
