We communicated through the FastSigns portal one day and had a phone interview the next. In that interview, I was told almost immediately that they weren't actually looking for a graphic designer/production assistant. They wanted to know if I was interested in Inside Sales; being the phone/email/in-person consultant for services with the "possibility" of helping on some creative work.
Not only did they start the conversation off with telling me they lied, they try to entice me with the possibility of doing the job I actually applied for. Starting off an interview with deception isn't exactly a way to gain mutual trust, but okay. It surprised me though that one of the people on the call asked me if I had a portfolio, since I mention on my resume that I am a freelance designer, to which I answered, "Yes, it's at the top." So at least one person didn't care enough to look.
I'm sure there are some locations that are alright to work with. But I'm not confident in the branch I applied to with being upfront about job duties and transparency.
