The virtual interview process took place via multiple Zoom calls over the course of a week. Following an initial screening and editing test pegged to GPO style, I met with a senior executive and then the program manager who is to become my immediate supervisor. The first-round interview consisted of general questions about work history, management style, etc., while the latter two were more specific to the requirements of the position. I ultimately accepted a different role than the one I had applied to fill, so the entire hiring process from application to offer letter took me approximately three weeks. I suspect the usual turnaround is generally quicker.
FedWriters does require a separate application and background check in addition to whatever clearances my be required for a given role. Note that each of the company's government clients stipulates its own requirements regarding new hires, so individual projects may or may not be willing to sponsor a new security clearance. Bear this fact in mind when applying for positions that require an active clearance.
