I applied online. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments (Jacksonville, FL) in Aug 2014
Interview
This review is to cover the initial 20 minute phone call with the recruiter. They are extremely transparent about what they can provide for you. He covered salary, benefits, and a very detailed schedule of the job. He expressed how hard the company worked for you to be successful. Training is 12 weeks from 8-5pm. One thing they don't put on the job posting is that you will be working in a call center, tied to a phone 90% of the day. You will also be given shifts that range between the hours of 7am-11pm Monday-Saturday. Night an weekend work required. This is a starting position and you can work your way up between 6-12 months. Most of the hiring is done internally. Everyone living with you (even if you are not dating/married) is required to move all of their investments over to Fidelity. If you have a live in-this may be a deal breaker for you.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They really look people passionate about finance. I don't know much, but they didn't seemed bothered. Why do you want to leave your job now? What do you like most about your job (they asked 3 separate times, looking for 3 different answers)? Can you work nights an weekends? What can we do for you, what are you looking for in a company?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments (Boston, MA) in Nov 2025
Interview
Brief 13 minute phone call (interviewer showed up late). Interview was very rushed and unprofessional, interviewer cut me off multiple times and did not give me an opportunity to ask him any questions. Keep in mind I was recommended to him by a branch manager. Very disappointed by this first interview round! Besides the interviews extreme haste, the interview went well. Use STAR method and you'll be ok.

Describe a situation when you had to learn something quickly to perform a task.
Basic behavioral interview in a laid back setting. None of the questions were difficult and it was mostly conversational. Very few finance related questions and more about your ability to be a good communicator.
