I applied through other source. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Fidessa (Jersey City, NJ) in Jun 2018
Interview
I was called again after 2 months of my onsite after my first rejection (due to my expectations of salary), for open positions in the same role as before. Now remember these guys have already interviewed me before for the same role and I was asked to interview again. The interview went really well for the technical part but the HR lady didn't look that happy.
These guys really aren't looking for any experience , just knowledge of C++ is required and hence the technical interview was just resume based on my projects.
I get a call 2 days later by the HR saying that I have not been selected and the reason is that I have no prior experience or projects related to their role.
1) These guys had my resume for over 4 months now since the beginning of my first round to my second onsite.
2) Their description for the same role says nothing of this sort.
And this is the stupid reason they give me, they shouldn't have interviewed me in the first place and now TWO times?.
I had actually aced the technical part in each rounds and the tech engineer was really happy on the phone screen too.
My experience in these interviews tell me that no matter how strong your technical skills are no matter how amazing projects on C++ you have the whole thing comes up to impressing the HR lady at least in the NJ office. The first time it looked as if she was the one to halt my offer and same this time too because I said in the HR interview ("Being a new grad I have no large scale projects related what Fidessa does").
They really just know how to waste time of students and the entire thing is completely unprofessional and time wasting for new graduates specially if you're not from a great college no matter how strong your technical is.
Everything worked out for me though as I received offer from Google two weeks later and I was glad that I didn't receive and offer from them.
