I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Vancouver, WA) in Aug 2011
Interview
I had a phone interview first. This consisted of explaining current and prior work history, education, extra curricular activities in college, why I want to work for Fisher, why I don't want to work for current employer, what my skills/duties were at past jobs. I was called back in two days and told that they would like to have me in for a face to face interview. The interview started by speaking with the same recruiter who did the phone interview, then the manager for the CSA position and ending with their manager. Total interview time was about 2 1/2 hours long. The wait time for a notice on whether or not I received an offer was approximately two weeks. Overall experience was good.
Applied, within 24 hours got an offer to interview over the phone. Phone interview was positive and was told I’d be recommended for a video interview. 3 days later, got a boilerplate rejection email. The kind that says, “after careful consideration” you know the one. The one that feigns consideration as corporate insulation from the applicants. If you want to still apply for a company that says, verbatim per the email,
“We understand you may want additional information about our decision. However, as a company policy, we do not provide feedback”, then you are entitled to your own pain and suffering.
Phone Interview, behaviour questions and availability. Asked about previous work experiences. Spoke for about 30 mins. Recruiter was new. The conversation was not flowing. Hence I was hesitant with my answers. But it was not very difficult.
Good experience with their recruiters. They are very nice and professional, and HR shares lots of helpful information and positive insights. They also have a very systematic, clear, and well-organized interview schedule.
