Phone interview with someone from HR. No remote work permitted, must be fully vaccinated. No thanks, hard pass. This is why they can't fill that job after a year. This is really a role for a young kid out of college who is desperate for work. Not a seasoned writing professional who knows their worth.
The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Fisher Investments
Interview
It was a disappointing and exhausting process because even though it was very involved and lengthy -- spanning 3 months! -- I was given no specific feedback whatsoever once the decision not to make me an offer was made. So be prepared for that. I even asked politely post-mortem for feedback from one of my many interviewers and was told that it's company policy not to give any. This was a person who ended our interview, which lasted over an hour, by saying "I can see why everyone is so excited about you." I think the HR person said something vague in the rejection call, like unfortunately, the team --has decided to go a different direction. It would've been less annoying to have been given some context, even if it was something like, telling me I was one of 3 finalists or something like that. My process went through several stages, beginning with an HR screen, then asked for writing samples, then still given a writing assignment/test, then 4 rounds of interviews. I think 3 months is too long to string an interviewee along. Perhaps they try to screen workers for Republican fit.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2022
Interview
They got back with me the same day I applied (Dec. 30th) and asked me to select a date to have a phone call (disregarded the date I chose) and then during the call, before I could tell the HR lady about my skills and experience she told me about two other jobs that I should've applied for instead based on my resume. After I answered her questions she told me I would hear back from them with a yes or no in five business days and that she would also send me two emails: the first would pertain to the other two positions she mentioned, and the second email would be a request for my writing samples. I never received either of those emails and after reaching back out to her two times she finally responded and asked me to forward her the writing samples. I obviously sent the writing samples but I have not heard from her now in two weeks despite sending three more emails asking for an update. She made it abundantly clear that I would hear back from them even if it was bad news and yet I haven't.
