The interview call was scheduled for 50 minutes. The first 25 minutes of the call was spent explaining how great the company was and what a wonderful job they’d done supporting their employees during the pandemic. Near the end of the verbal company tour the recruiter went to great pains explaining their internal policy which required that they let candidates know if they would be advancing to the next round, regardless of what level of employee they would be, within 5 days. “Oh, so that means you won’t ghost me?” I asked jokingly. “Absolutely not, we would never ghost a candidate. That is simply not how we do business.” They immediately ghosted me. I reached out the day after the interview and received no response, I reached out a second time several days later and again heard nothing. Its been over two weeks since that conversation and it’s safe to say they ghosted me.
