      Quantitative Analyst Interview

      Feb 28, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Flatiron Health (New York, NY) in Oct 2016

      Interview

The first step was a take home challenge involving some cancer data wrangling and data visualizations (simple charts and graphs) in order to answer some descriptive statistics-type questions. I found this data set to be irritating though because it wasn't an artificially generated data set, so it wasn't possible to apply intuition for sanity checks along the way. This made the take home challenge take much longer than it should have. The second round was a one on one video interview. I was really disappointed with the questions asked, as they weren't relevant to get a sense of what I would actually be doing if I worked there with them. I also got the sense that the interviewer was looking for specific answers, which was also irritating since the questions seemed so open ended.

      Question 1

Say it's your first day working with us and by the end of the day, you have to give a presentation on all of the data that we have. How would you go about doing this?
