      IT Support Engineer Interview

      Apr 20, 2021
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Flatiron Health (New York, NY)

      Interview

Started with a phone screen and moved to a 3.5 hour zoom interview with 6 people. Questions were a bit tough but fair, especially for a role where you may need to be a jack of all trades. Afterwards, did a reverse interview where you interview the interviewers. Final step was references before I was given an offer. Total process took about two weeks but genuinely felt like they would’ve been flexible with doing a quicker or slower process if necessary.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Flatiron Health (New York, NY) in Feb 2021

      Interview

Sometimes you have to trust your instincts. I made it pretty far during the process, the specified last round being my manager and my manager's manager. I truly connected with everyone beforehand and was excited about the possibility. But the lazy and lackluster energy brought forth by the manager was a major red flag. He was oozing a certain energy that rubbed me the wrong way and consistently asked me questions to undermine my experience. The kicker of it all was that they added a further round with a new individual "to vet out my knowledge further." I hid my insult to myself and volunteered for this "final round." After about 5 hours of interview, I didn't get the position. To add insult to energy, the recruiter, who indicated not having an issue in providing feedback, never responded to my email when I asked why. But maybe, it was for the best. Always acknowledge your worth and be wary of "managers" who don't see that. Also, recognize that it is a small world so always treat everyone with respect and humility, regardless of your position in lfe.
