I interviewed for a Senior Director position at Ford and completed two rounds. Unfortunately, after the second interview, I never received any follow-up from the recruiter or talent team, despite reaching out twice.
Even when a candidate is not selected, it’s important and ethical to close the loop with a formal rejection email rather than leaving candidates without any response. Clear communication reflects well on the company and respects the time and effort candidates invest in the process.
The hiring manager I met in the second interview emphasized wanting candidates to feel good about the interview experience, which made the lack of follow-up from the recruiting side even more disappointing. I hope Ford encourages closer coordination between hiring managers and recruiters to ensure candidates are informed, even when the decision is not to move forward.
