I applied online. I interviewed at Freeport-McMoRan (Tucson, AZ) in Apr 2012
Interview
Pre phone interview, the company paid to fly me out, provide a hotel room for two nights, told me to rent a car and they would reimbursed me. They also promised me per diem for three days. I was never reimbursed for the car or paid per diem. I inquired several times about this and was given the run-around. I was interviewed by three managers at once with a limited discription of the job I was applying to.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One interview asked me to describe someone I've worked with who I didn't like and how I handle working with them.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Freeport-McMoRan (Miami, AZ) in Mar 2025
Interview
I only had one interview each time I interviewed with them, was in the running for 2 months with no further interview scheduled but never got to second round. First round was them asking questions about my resume, education, etc. Second they said would be a site visit and that round would be more grueling, then I believe a panel interview for final decision.

Question 1
They asked about some data processing skills I used on a project recently, familiarity with air emission laws, they were also very understanding that this was an entry level role so they didn't expect me to know a lot
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Freeport-McMoRan (Green Valley, AZ) in Feb 2018
Interview
First, received a 10-15 minute call to review application and resume with a recruiter. Received an additional call about a week later to set up a phone/webX interview with the hiring panel. The interview itself was fairly standard and the managers from the department seemed fine. However, the fourth person, a HR representative, was rather odd and a bit rude. Her input and presence was very awkward from the start. In addition, the webX did not work and I had to get a hold of a mediator to help troubleshoot. This technical error was on Freeport's end and took nearly 15 minutes for them to realize, "Hey, why don't we just call him on speaker." That was my first red flag followed by the awkward HR rep.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Freeport-McMoRan (Golden, CO) in Sep 2017
Interview
it was an overall good interview, two people interviewing had a list of questions , all pretty standard, and got back to me within two and a half weeks about the job.
