Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do want to give up University? How soon can I become certified for GA teaching? No discussion of salary as I had maximum salary for Fulton County.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fulton County Schools in May 2017
Interview
Begins with phone interview in which you teach a 5-7 minute sample lesson over the phone. This is to qualify for a candidate pool. At first I was intimidated but I quickly felt comfortable. The interviewer was very pleasant and non threatening.
Then you can be contacted by specific schools for in person interviews. This is a panel interview that includes another sample lesson taught to the panel as if they're your students. Then it moves on to standard teacher interview questions.
Overall the process is extensive but not scary-- everyone was very friendly and non-intimidating.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Fulton County Schools (Atlanta, GA) in Oct 2015
Interview
The interview (multiple) was done at the last minute and conducted by inexperienced teachers who were newly hired themselves. In addition, a gym teacher was added to the interview board mix who had less education and experience than myself. I completed a full teaching lesson using technology and manipulatives to differentiate the instruction.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They did not ask me any questions, they simply participated in my lesson as students. They were taking notes, but I never got to see those so I'm not sure what was documented. This was my 2nd interview with this school and I never heard from them again not even after I requested a copy of my materials that I shared during my lesson.
