I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GE HealthCare (Genoa, IL)
Interview
I received an email to schedule a screening call several weeks after applying. She called me right on time which I appreciated but from there it went downhill. The first issue was her line had a terrible connection and she kept cutting out. Second, she had a very thick accent so the combination of the two caused me to listen closely and try to fill in the gaps as to what she said. On top of that, she came across as if calling me was an annoyance. So obviously, there was no ice breaker or general chit chat. Instead it started with “The way this works is I ask you questions and you answer”. Ok? I know this is an interview and typically that’s how it goes but sheesh! I acknowledged and we proceeded with the Q&A. Luckily, it started with the typical screening questions and I could pretty much figure out what was being asked. Then it went into questions on specific skills for the role. Several times I apologized and asked her to repeat the question which obviously annoyed her. One of the times I was literally trying to figure out what she said (and I worried she’d hang up on me if I ask her to repeat herself again) and I must have been too silent for too long because she felt the need to somewhat yell “are you still there?” Twice after asking me role specific questions (that requires a detailed answer) she felt the need to interrupt me which completely threw me off. Needless to say, this was the worst interview of my life and I don’t think I stood a chance at getting the job from the moment my phone rang and not because of my lack of experience or skills, either. I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GE HealthCare
Interview
3 rounds : 2 Technical and 1 HM.
Reasons for Positive Experience:
Polite HR and interview panel.
Reasons for Negative Experience:
1. Continuous follow up for interview schedules and feedback after each round. No email formalization of feedback received. Multiple HRs front ending the conversation, some of them were not responsive.
2. HR missed the HM round and initiated the document/details/salary expectation collection process after the first 2 technical rounds were clear informing that the final discussion with HR will be next. They suddenly realised the HM round is pending. Was informed that this would be a smooth, quick discussion. Had to follow up for this to be scheduled too. Proactivity to hire for mid-senior levels is a gap.
3. Post the HM round(which went well), was told that - Was overqualified for the role they are hiring for. The requirement for candidature has changed from a higher experience level to a lower one.
Overall, this was not a professional approach to handle a mid-senior requisition. The fitment should have been done early on knowing there were 2 tech rounds which could have been used to understand the skills and match.

The process took 3 months. I interviewed at GE HealthCare (Bengaluru) in Nov 2018
Interview
I got a call from the HR for the profile of technical project manager for which JD was not shared to me. Telecon Technical interview was scheduled but it got postponed by couple of days. After the TCon interview, I received another call after 3 weeks for a F2F. After 1 round of F2F , I was told that they will get back to me. Again after 3 weeks ,I received a call from the HR for next round of interview with the Senior Director. So,I had a TCon with Director, then the HR round in one week. Next week again HR called me to negotiate the offer. After waiting for 3 weeks , HR said that because of technical evaluation they have put my profile on hold.
The whole process went for 3Months.
HR team is deciding the skills of the candidates and technical team has no say in it. HR team is just looking for a cheap resource.
That's the most unprofessional and pathetic recruitment process I have seen. If they found anything bad in my technical skills, they wouldn't have done the HR round and salary negotiation.
I would like to suggest HR team to improve their HR process.
For the entire process I kept asking for a JD but no one shared me the Job description.
