      Writer Interview

      Jan 12, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GLG (New York, NY) in Dec 2018

      Interview

The process began with a phone interview. My interviewer asked basic questions and began to take on the rhythm of a genuine conversation--I attribute that to the skill and congeniality of the GLG employee. A couple of days later I was asked to come in for an in-person interview at the end of the same week to meet with the head of my department. He asked important and generative questions, but again, the overall feeling was that of two friends talking, which put me at ease. Later that afternoon, I received a writing test by e-mail, to be completed within the next 48. Two days later I was e-mailed to set up a phone call with another team member, which was less an interview and more of a get-to-know you kind of exchange. The phone call took place two weeks after the initial phone interview, and I didn't hear from them again until 3 days later when I was asked to come in to speak with my interviewers again as well as to meet more of the team. They made an offer and I very happily accepted. So, roughly 5 rounds over the course of 3.5 weeks. While I wish it were a quicker process, myself being fully committed to the possibility of working there, I appreciated their thoroughness and time in getting to know me.
