Unprofessional.
I was contacted by a recruiter via Linkedin for a management role. At the time I wasn't interested. I then quit my job, took some time off, and decided to see if the opportunity was still open. They said yes, and sent me the description for an independent contributor. I have been in the industry for 10 years and built 3 CSM teams from the floor up. I'm not taking my career backward. It was already a 50k pay cut since the base was in the 130k range (CSM management makes closer to 200K) but the product truly excited me and passion is also a motivating factor,
I then responded that I was only looking for a management role, she confirmed it was still available and sent me the link to book a meeting with another recruiter.
The interview took place, she opened with this is for an IC. I reiterated I'm here to discuss the manager role...oh ok, she says... so we then continue the interview, and was told to expect feedback in 2 days. i didn't hear back. I sent a follow-up 3 days after I was expected to hear from her on the next steps. 5 mins later a templated email is sent saying they are passing. I reply asking where they felt I felt short - received crickets.
It's perfectly fine I wasn't selected, but the HR team needs to invest in making their staffing team more polished and prepared.
