I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (New York, NY) in Mar 2016
Interview
2 phone screens with a recruiter, next round were two separate 1:1 face to face interviews with someone that would be my direct manager, then a panel face to face interview with the person that was going to be my manager, his boss, and the recruiter. Very intense interviews all around. Must be able to think on your toes.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
-How are you different from other candidates? What will you bring to the table?
-What's one piece of feedback you've been given to work on recently?
-Why are you looking to leave your current role?
-How do you feel about constructive criticism?
Intensive - multiple rounds led by a recruiter. Expect 2 rounds of role play, around 4 rounds total. 2 with a recruiter, one with a lead skills expert and another panel with VPs and hiring managers.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gartner in May 2026
Interview
30 minute phone call with recruiter. Next is 1 hour with recruiter about your background, behavioral questions. Then 1 hour with LSA with questions on your background and a role play.
HR is very accommodating and helpful through the whole process. It can be a little confusing how they structure and and label their position but easily cleared up when talking in first rounds. They are professional and get back quickly. Overall a very positive experience.
