I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Genentech (Palo Alto, CA)
Interview
It was an online 1 hour skype interview - I got mostly questions about my research. They were more interested in how I thought, and how I go about designing experiments, than my ability to regurgitate information. There were some questions that were clearly required by HR - such as "describe I time when you struggled" etc.

I interviewed at Genentech (South San Francisco, CA)
Interview
I applied online through their job portal. This was a standard resume/cover letter/skills ask. After applying online, the wait period was quite some time (3 months). First was a phone screen for about 15 minutes with a recruiter and then an interview with the hiring manager that was about an hour.

Question 1
Describe computational tools that you use, their workflow, and their application.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Genentech in Feb 2021
Interview
I had two interviews - one with my future line manager, and another with potential supervisors. My line manager asked more behavioral questions, HR questions, and questions about my resume. My potential supervisors had asked questions about my resume primarily, and fit with the company. Overall, it was not a super difficult interview.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Genentech (Corvallis, OR) in Jan 2018
Interview
I actually was not interviewed. Well, not directly by Genentech anyway. I came in through the MECOP process.
I talked to a few people from HR and they confirmed things like my year in school. Then I went through a background check.
