I applied for the job, then got an email to schedule a phone screening. Once we selected a time, we had the Phone Interview for 30 minutes. The interviewer described a typical experience of someone in the position and asked me several questions to see how I might fit.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Genentech

Even if you don't get the job, they're responsive to your questions afterward depending on the department.
So far for any department, they are very nice and friendly. I've only had 1 department who was not exactly helpful after being interviewed by 2 different departments.
