I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Genesys (Indianapolis, IN) in May 2020
Interview
First interview with the recruiter was good although they couldn’t describe the role very well, they said this was due to the hiring manager not being specific enough in their job description. Next, I interviewed with the hiring manager, and it was a disaster. The zoom link didn’t work properly and I was two minutes late (I own that one). But then the hiring manager couldn’t have appeared less interested. They didn’t ask ANY questions relevant to my experience in the industry or as a PM, and didn’t seem to have any idea that I had come from two of their biggest competitors in the past. I get that I am the one in the hot seat for the interview, but this hiring manager didn’t have a clue how to conduct an interview of any caliber (of course, I accept also that the hiring manager may have been put off by my tardiness and wrote me off before the interview even began, but then I wish they would have just said so).
Brief introductory call with the recruiter.
- 1 round with the hiring manager
- 1 final round with the executive
Mostly a blend of behavioural and technical where I could provide a few examples. Definitely more of a conversations interview and was a good experience.
Got a call from the recruiter. Called as scheduled, She was very flexible and was ready to reschedule after hearing about my conflict. It was a typical recruiter screening call.
